What's in Your Wellbeing Toolkit?
We all have tools that help us navigate life’s challenges, whether we realise it or not. Some are physical, like a favourite book, a warm cup of tea, or a soothing playlist. Others are internal, like resilience, kindness, or the ability to take a deep breath in a stressful moment. But how often do we stop and recognise the skills we already have that support our wellbeing?
At The Creative Wellbeing Company, we believe that understanding and celebrating these tools is essential for mental health. That’s why, throughout May, we’re asking: What’s in your Wellbeing Toolkit?
Why Your Wellbeing Toolkit Matters
In times of stress or uncertainty, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But having a set of personalised tools, whether they’re creative practices, self-care rituals, or mindset shifts, can provide a sense of control and comfort. Identifying these tools helps us:
💪🏻 Recognise our strengths – We all have skills that support us, but we don’t always acknowledge them. Taking stock of what we already do well can boost confidence and self-worth.
🧠 Develop self-awareness – When we understand what truly helps us, we can turn to these tools more intentionally, rather than relying on unhealthy coping mechanisms.
🛠 Expand our toolkit – Sometimes, we discover new skills that could support our mental wellbeing. Exploring creative practices or mindset shifts can add powerful new tools to our skill set.
A Creative Approach to Wellbeing
To bring this idea to life, we’re introducing a new workshop: “What’s in Your Wellbeing Toolkit?”
In this hands-on session, we invite participants to creatively express what’s in their toolkit. Whether it’s cutting, sticking, painting, printing, or stitching, we’ll be making visual representations of the tools we rely on — with a twist!
Imagine recreating your favourite chocolate bar, but instead of listing the ingredients, you add the skills that support your wellbeing. Perhaps your resilience is like the smooth caramel filling, or your ability to ask for help is as essential as the chocolate coating. This activity is a fun, thoughtful way to celebrate our personal strengths and uncover the hidden skills that support our mental health.
What’s in Your Toolkit?
We’d love for you to join us in exploring this theme throughout May. Whether you attend our workshop or simply reflect on your own, take some time to think about the tools that support you—big or small.
