The Benefits
-
Creativity improves our self-esteem, boosts our confidence and makes us feel happier and healthier.

By taking part in craft activities as a group, it can improve social connections - reduce loneliness and social isolation. With more of us working remotely, it can make us feel more engaged and be an opportunity to connect with others in a creative way.

Learning a new skill, such as crafting is a great way to build resilience. It teaches us to grow, learn and overcome new challenges. It's proven to improve wellbeing and have a positive impact on levels of anxiety and depression.

Do you recognise a feeling of joy that you can get when taking part in cultural activities such as music, museums, dance groups, and theatre? Or how we felt as a child when we got creative! Getting involved in craft can have a similar effect, and can improve our mental health through creativity and self-expression.
-
Taking part in craft is proven to alleviate anxiety, depression, and stress. It enables people to take greater responsibility for their own health and wellbeing by helping maintain levels of independence. Crafting keeps us curious and improves our quality of life by bringing us greater joy.
Founded by Fiona Lock in 2021, The Mindful Craft Company was created to help teams connect and experience the benefits of craft.
With a background in publishing, Fiona used to design craft kits for one of the UKs leading craft magazines.
After becoming a first time mum to the beautiful Dorothy, losing her ‘dream’ job, and faced with a global pandemic, it was crafting that helped Fiona find a moment of calm and deal with negative thoughts. Realising the powerful effect that creativity had on her in such a short space of time, Fiona realised that craft could help so many people, and so The Mindful Craft Company was born.
At The Mindful Craft Company, our aim is to connect teams, which is even more important in our new world of hybrid working. Connecting with self, connecting with the team and connecting businesses to their purpose and values, all through the power of craft.
